What is the Swekey for?
The Swekey is an authentication key that secures access to web sites and web applications.
Swekey enabled sites can verify that your Swekey is plugged in to your computer when you sign in.
So even if your password got compromised, nobody will be able to use your account without your Swekey.
I lost my swekey, what should I do?
Please go to the
revocation
page and revoke your swekey.
Once revoked a swekey is definitely disabled and won't be required anymore by most of the web sites.
Can I replace a lost or stolen swekey?
Once revoked, you can order a new swekey with the same id, althrough it would have been smarter to order a backup swekey before.
What is a backup swekey?
A backup swekey is a disabled copy of your swekey that you should keep in case you lose your main swekey.
If you lose your swekey, just plug your backup key and after a confirmation dialog the backup swekey will be activated
and the lost one will be definitely disabled.
I'm at home and I forgot my swekey at my office, how can I access swekey secured web site?
You can temporarily disable a swekey

then most sites won't require the presence of the swekey anymore.
How can I re-enable a temporarily disabled swekey?
Just plug your disabled swekey into any computer connected to the internet, and it will be automatically enabled.
